🎁 Accepting Item Donations 

The Item Donation Form allows your supporters to submit auction items directly from your Landing Page, including images and descriptions. This guide walks you through adding the form to your event site and managing incoming donations.

🧱 Option 1: Add the Donation Form to Your Landing Page

You can embed the donation form into any Landing Page Section.

  1. Go to Software Settings > Landing Page Builder

  2. Click Add Content Block

  3. Choose Donate an Item from the Type dropdown list. 

Add some text to this section to promote donations!

"If you’re looking to donate an item for our auction, you’ve come to the right place! Simply fill out the form below, upload an image, and click ‘Submit Donation.’ It’s that easy!"

🔗 Option 2: Share the Donation Form Link

If you prefer sharing the form directly:

  1. Go to Items > Manage Donors

  2. Click Copy Form Link

This can be pasted into emails or social media for easy donor access.

📥 What Happens After a Submission

When someone submits an item:

  • It appears in Items > Manage Items

  • The Status is automatically set to Invisible

  • The Closing Time is set to your event’s closing date at 11:55 PM

You’ll need to activate and review each item.

🛠  Managing Submitted Items

To edit and prepare items for the auction:

  1. Go to Items > Manage Items

  2. Click the item name to Edit and update the following:

  • Status: Change to Active to enable bidding

  • Closing Time: Adjust individually or via batch update

  • Starting Bid & Raise:

    • Defaults based on FMV (Fair Market Value)

    • Starting Bid: 10% of FMV

    • Bid Increments: 35% of FMV
      (Both round up to nearest $5)

  • Market Value: Must be entered manually (not pulled from the form)

  • Buy It Now: Add this value manually if needed

  • Images:

    • Up to 10 images supported per item

    • Reorder by clicking item > Image Details > Drag and Drop

Items with images will automatically include them in the bid site and app display.

 

The “Your Name” field on the form appears as "Donated by" on the bid app and preview page.

📧 Email Notifications

  • Admins receive:
    "You have a new item donation from your Landing Page"

  • Donors receive:
    A thank-you confirmation email

🧪  Test It Out

We recommend running a test submission:

  1. Fill out and submit the form yourself

  2. Review the item in Manage Items

  3. To remove it, click the item > scroll to bottom > Delete
