💸 How to Add Donations for Bidders (Paddle Raise & Fund-a-Need)
Easily track live donations during your fundraising event using ClickBid's Butler tool. Whether you're managing a Raise-the-Paddle, Fund-a-Need, or individual donations, this guide shows you how to enter donations and launch an appeal display.
📦 Before You Start: Add a Donation Item
Make sure you’ve already created a donation item:

Navigate to Items in the left menu.

Click Manage Items.

Add a new item with an Item Type of Donation.
You can create multiple levels of giving in one Donation Item using the Denomination option.
🧑💻 Step 1: Add Donations Through the Butler

Go to Event Central from your left navigation menu.

Click Butler.
-
Under the Appeal section, click on the donation item you want to track.

Enter the bidder number under the denomination the Auctioneer is asking for, then press space, enter, *, or click Save.

Only enter one bidder at a time.

The donation is now added to that bidder's cart.
The Placeholder button will only increase the thermometer display. It does not assign a donation to any bidder’s account.

View the total raised in the bottom-right corner of the Butler screen.

If you entered the wrong bidder number, click the trash can icon next to the donation to remove it.
ℹ️ Donations entered here are not immediately charged. They appear in the bidder's cart and must be paid for at checkout.
🎥 Optional: Show a Live Appeal Display
You can display a real-time thermometer or visual donation tracker during a live ask:

Go to Items > Manage Items.

Click on the donation item you want to show.

Click Projected Display Settings and adjust the settings to your liking.
- Customize the display using the settings on this page (colors, layout, title, etc.)

Click the Appeal Display link to launch it in a new browser tab.
