đź’ł How to Add a Credit Card to a Bidder's Account
There are three ways to add a credit card in ClickBid, depending on where the bidder is in the process.
- Require a credit card during registration or bidding

Go to Software Settings > Auction Settings > Bidder Settings.

Enable the setting to require a credit card to register or place a bid.

Bidders will be prompted to enter a card when they sign up or start bidding.
đź’ˇTip: Requiring cards up front helps streamline checkout and reduce unpaid bids.
2. Add a card at check-in through the Butler

Open the Butler interface at your event.

Use Bidder Lookup to find the guest.

Click the edit icon next to their name.

Click Add a New Card and enter their payment information.
- This is perfect for in-person events where staff or volunteers are helping guests check in.
OR
3. Let the bidder add their own card on the bid site

Once logged into the bidding site, the bidder can enter a credit card on their own.

They’ll find this option in their bidder dashboard or prompted during bidding or checkout.
ℹ️Info: All credit cards are securely tokenized using ClickBid’s integrated payment processor—no full card data is stored by ClickBid.
đź§ą How to Remove a Credit Card
Only admins can remove a saved credit card from a bidder’s profile.

Go to Bidders > Manage Bidders in the admin dashboard.

Locate the bidder whose card you want to remove.

Look for the Has cc tag next to their name.

Click the X next to the tag to remove the stored card.

Once removed, the card is completely deleted from ClickBid’s system.

Our merchant provider does not retain any card data once removed.
⚠️ Warning: This action is permanent. If the bidder needs to use a card again, it must be re-entered manually.
