🧾 Adding Tax to Items

Add sales tax to your ClickBid auction to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with local regulations. This guide walks you through enabling tax settings and applying tax to specific items.


🛠️ Step 1: Enable Sales Tax in Your Auction Settings

  1. Click Software Settings from the left menu.

  2. Select Auction Settings.

  3. Go to the Payment tab.

  4. In the Sales Tax section:

    • Enter your sales tax percentage (e.g., 6%).

    • Choose the appropriate Tax Calculation method (e.g., FMV or Full Purchase Price).


🛍️ Step 2: Apply Tax to Specific Auction Items

  1. In the left menu, click Items.

  2. Select Manage Items.

  3. Use the checkboxes to select all applicable items that should be taxed.

  4. Scroll to the Batch Update section at the bottom of the page.

  5. Under the Taxable dropdown, choose Yes.

  6. Click the Update button.

If you have an item package and want to charge a portion of your item as taxable, click into the item and use the Calculate Appropriate Tax Rate to set the rate based on the FMV of the portion of the item that is taxable.

Tax settings are now active and applied to your chosen items. All taxable purchases will reflect these settings during checkout and on receipts.
