🎟️ How to Sell Raffle Tickets Online
You can sell raffle tickets online using ClickBid — whether you're using the Legacy View or the new Virtual Venue. This guide will walk you through how to set up, sell, and choose a raffle winner.
💡 Tip: Raffles are not considered tax-deductible by the IRS. Be sure to set the FMV equal to the ticket price to prevent incorrect receipts.
🛠️ Step 1: Set Up Your Raffle Item
-
Navigate to Items > Manage Items.
 -
Click Add Item, or click into an existing raffle item to edit it.

🎯 Step 2: Configure the Raffle Settings
In the item details:
-
Set the Item Type to Quantity.
 -
Use the Set Quantity/Purchase Price fields to offer multiple ticket levels.
 -
If your raffle has limited tickets:
-
Set Limited? to Quantity
 -
Set Quantity Remaining to the total number of tickets available.

 -

-
If unlimited:
-
Set Limited? to No
 -
Set Quantity Remaining to 0

 -

⚠️ Warning: Make sure to set the Fair Market Value (FMV) equal to the ticket price.
This prevents ClickBid from showing a potential tax-deductible amount — raffle purchases are not charitable contributions and are not tax-deductible per IRS rules.
💡 Tip: If you offer multiple quantities, the FMV displayed will reflect the lowest quantity level available.
💻 Step 3: How Bidders Purchase Raffle Tickets
-
Log in to your Virtual Venue.
 -
Locate your raffle item and click Buy Now.
 -
Bidders follow the checkout process to complete their purchase.

⚠️ Warning:
If you enable Charge CC at time Qty bid is placed, under
Software Settings > Auction Settings > Payment,
the bidder’s credit card will be charged immediately.
💳 If you’ve set a credit card processing fee (optional or required), it will also be charged at the time of purchase when this setting is enabled.
🏆 Step 4: Choosing a Raffle Winner
You can use either the Legacy or Virtual Venue view to identify and draw a winner.
-
Go to Items > Manage Items and click Has Bids.
 -
Click Download Qty Purchases.

-
Open the downloaded report — it lists each bidder and the number of tickets they purchased.
 -
Enter the first and last row numbers from your report that contain bidder names.
 -
Click Generate. The number chosen corresponds to your winning row.
 -
Contact the winner and share the great news!
