➕ How to Add Bids for Bidders in ClickBid

Need to manually place bids for donors during your event? Whether it’s a silent auction, donation, raffle, or live item, the Butler tool in ClickBid makes it easy to add bids on behalf of your guests in just a few clicks.

⚙️ Accessing the Butler Tool

  1. Go to Software Settings.

  2. Click Auction Settings.

  3. Under Butler Settings, click the Butler Link.

    • This is the same link you can share with volunteers for check-in and bidding help during the event.

ℹ️Info: The Butler is your on-the-ground tool for managing bids, donations, and guest checkouts quickly.

💰 Adding a Donation Bid

  1. In the Add a Bid/Multi-Sale field, enter the bidder name or number, then select them from the dropdown.

  2. If credit cards are required, you may see a warning that the bidder doesn’t have a card on file.

⚠️ Warning: This won’t block the bid but may delay checkout.

     3. Enter the donation name or item number and select it.

     4. A new field will appear—enter the donation amount the bidder wants to give.

🕵️‍♂️ Adding a Silent Auction Bid

  1. In the Add a Bid/Multi-Sale field, enter the bidder name or number, then select them.

  2. Search for the silent auction item and select it.

  3. In the Choose an Amount dropdown, select the amount the bidder wants to bid.

  4. If prompted, you can choose Set as Max Bid.

    • This allows the system to auto-bid for the bidder up to their maximum.

💡Tip: Max Bids are a great way to keep your guests competitive without requiring them to monitor every outbid message.

🎟️ Adding a Raffle Bid

  1. In the Add a Bid/Multi-Sale field, enter the bidder name or number and select them.

  2. Enter the raffle item name or number, then select it.

  3. A field will appear showing available ticket quantities—select how many tickets they want.

     4. Click Place Bid to finalize the purchase.

ℹ️Info: You’ll see unlimited purchase options unless the item was set up with two fixed price points.

🎯 Adding a Live Item Bid

  1. In the Add a Bid/Multi-Sale field, enter the bidder name or number, then select them.

  2. Type in the live item name or number, then select it.

  3. Enter the winning bid amount.

     4. Click Add Bid.

     5. Click Place Bid to confirm.

ℹ️Info: Selling a live item multiple times? No problem—ClickBid allows one live item to be sold multiple times to different bidders. Each bid will be linked to the item and can be checked out individually.
