🧹How to Remove a Bid in ClickBid

🧹 Removing a Bid from an Item in ClickBid

Need to remove a bid during your event? Whether it’s a mistaken bid or a bidder who changed their mind, ClickBid gives you a few easy ways to manage and remove bids — right from the Butler, the Bidders page, or the Items page.

⚙️ Option 1: Remove a Bid Through the Butler

The Butler is your go-to tool for fast, on-the-fly actions during your event. You can access it directly at cbo.io/butler or through your admin dashboard.

  1. Go to Event Central.

  2. Click Butler. (Or head directly to cbo.io/butler.)

  3. Scroll to the Remove a Bid section.

  4. In the Item (type item name or number) field, enter the name or number of the item.

  5. Select the item from the dropdown.

  6. Click Lookup.

  7. Select the bidder whose bid you want to remove.

     8. Click Remove Bid.

💡Tip: The Butler is especially handy during live events when speed matters.

👥 Option 2: Remove a Bid Through the Bidders Page

If you know the bidder whose bid needs to be removed, start from the Bidders section.

  1. Click Bidders in the admin menu.

  2. Click Manage Bidders.

  3. Find the bidder and click has bids.

     4. Locate the item and click the remove (🗑️) button next to the bid.

     5. Click Yes to confirm.

ℹ️Info: This method is helpful when the focus is on a specific person rather than the item and can also be achieved in the butler when searching for the bidders name in Bidder Lookup.

🎟️ Option 3: Remove a Bid Through the Items Page

If you're managing an item and want to clear out a bid directly, use this path:

  1. Click Items in the admin menu.

  2. Click Manage Items.

  3. Locate the item and click has bids.

     4. Click the remove (🗑️) button next to the bid.

     5. Click Yes to confirm.

💡Tip: This route works best if you’re managing auction items and reviewing bids at the same time.

⚠️ Things to Keep in Mind

  • Removing a bid does not notify the bidder — if necessary, follow up with them manually.

  • If you remove the current high bid, the next highest bid becomes the leading bid automatically.

  • You can always re-enter bids manually if needed.

⚠️ Warning: Once a bid is removed, it cannot be undone. Double-check before confirming.
