💳 Canadian Credit Card Processing Overview
If your organization is based in Canada, there are a few key things to know about using ClickBid’s built-in credit card processing. From accepted cards to fee settings, here’s how to make sure everything runs smoothly for your bidders.
⚙️ How to Access Payment Settings
To view or adjust your payment processing setup:

Go to Software Settings in the admin.

Click Auction Settings.

Select the Payment tab.
Credit card processing is already set up in your account. To view, go to Software Settings > Auction Settings > Payment.
💳 Accepted Cards and Payment Requirements

Visa and Mastercard are accepted.

The card must be credit-branded (not debit cards requiring a PIN).

CVV codes are required for security.

Billing Postal Code is required when saving a credit card to a bidder’s record.
We do not store credit card numbers in ClickBid. This is why CVV and postal code are required during entry.
📲 Text-to-Give in Canada
Text-to-Give is available! Use the 855 number located on your Home Page > Important Links section to share with your donors.
Add this number to your event signage, slides, or donation appeals to make giving quick and mobile-friendly.
🧾 Credit Card Fees for Canadian Accounts

The default credit card fee for Canadian accounts is 3.59%.

To cover this fee and retain the full donation or purchase amount, we recommend charging 3.724% .
✅ How to Charge Bidders the Credit Card Fee

Go to Software Settings.

Click Auction Settings.

Select the Payment tab.

Enable Capture CC Fees – 3.724%. You can allow bidders to opt out if you'd like.
When your account is configured as Canadian and charging in CAD, no foreign transaction fees are applied to your bidders’ payments.
🚫 Unsupported Features in Canada (for now)

Check payments are not available; only ACH transfers can be processed when requesting a payout.
If your organization relies on check disbursements, you’ll need to use ACH for now.
