💳 How to Charge for Quantity Items Immediately After Purchase
Make sure purchases like raffle tickets, wine pulls, or games are paid for as soon as they're selected. This guide shows you how to set your ClickBid settings so quantity items are charged right away, streamlining the process for both you and your bidders.
⚙️ Step-by-Step Setup
Here’s how to enable immediate charges for quantity item purchases:
1. Go to Software Settings > Auction Settings
2. Click on the Payment tab
3. Find the setting:
“Charge CC at time Quantity bid is placed?”
Click the dropdown and select Yes
💡 Tip: If you are charging credit card fees, enabling this setting will automatically include those fees when the bidder is charged.
👥 Bidder Experience
Once this setting is enabled, here's what your guests will see:
4. If a bidder has a card on file, they will see a confirmation message that their card will be charged.
5. If a bidder doesn’t have a card on file, they’ll be prompted to add a credit card before completing the purchase.
ℹ️ Info: This setting applies to all quantity items in your auction — it’s all or nothing. Make sure any item you want this to apply to is set as a Quantity item type in Manage Items.
📝 Summary
With this setting, your bidders will pay upfront for quantity-based purchases, helping you simplify payments and reduce unpaid items. It's ideal for any item sold in multiples — like raffle tickets or wine pulls — where instant payment ensures participation and smooth checkout.
