Sharing auction items on social media is a simple way to drive more visibility and bids for your event! With ClickBid, you can:

  • Allow bidders to share items directly from your auction site.

  • Share items from your admin dashboard.

  • Add your organization’s social media links to your auction page footer.

This makes it easy for guests and supporters to spread the word and increase your event’s reach.

🌐 How to Add Your Social Media Links to Your Auction Site

You can add social media links to your landing page footer by following these steps:

  1. Click Software Settings in the admin menu.

  2. Select Landing Page Builder.

  3. Click Settings.

  4. Scroll to the Footer section.

  5. Enter your links for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or any other profiles.

These links will display at the bottom of your landing page, giving guests an easy way to follow your organization online!

⚙️ How to Enable Social Sharing for Auction Items

To allow bidders and admins to share auction items:

  1. Click Software Settings from your admin menu.

  2. Select Landing Page Content.

  3. Click Page Settings.

  4. Find the Social Media dropdown under "Social Sharing" and select Yes.

Once enabled, the sharing option becomes available on your landing page and inside your admin tools.

👥 How Bidders Share Auction Items

Bidders can easily share specific items right from the auction site! Here’s how:

  1. Locate the item on the landing page.

  2. Click the Details button on the item.

  3. In the top-right corner of the item details popup, click the Link Icon (usually looks like a chain link or share icon).

  4. A unique URL will copy automatically — bidders can paste this link anywhere:

    • Facebook

    • Twitter

    • Text messages

    • Emails

💡 Tip: Encourage bidders to share their favorite items with friends and family to increase bids!

🛠️ How Admins Share Auction Items

Admins can also quickly share auction items from the backend:

  1. Click Items from the admin menu.

  2. Select Manage Items.

  3. Click the Share Icon next to the item you want to share.

  4. The item’s direct link will be copied automatically.

You can now paste this link in:

  • Emails

  • Facebook/Twitter posts

  • Mass Messaging (via text or email within ClickBid)

When shared, the link will display a preview of the item along with a button that directs users to register and place bids.

📸 How to Share Auction Items on Instagram

⚠️ Important Note: Instagram does not allow clickable links in post captions unless you're running a paid promotion. However, you can share links in:

  • Instagram Stories using the Link Sticker

  • Your Instagram bio

  • Instagram Direct Messages (DMs)

Here’s how to share an item link in your Instagram Story:

  1. Open the Instagram app.

  2. Tap to Add to Your Story.

  3. Select a photo or video (like your auction logo or the item image).

  4. Tap the Sticker Icon and choose Link.

  5. Paste your auction or item URL.

  6. (Optional) Customize the sticker text to include the item name or bidding call-to-action.

  7. Tap Done and then Share Your Story.
