📊 Manage Items Report: What’s Included and How to Export

Need a quick way to view all of your auction items in one place? The Manage Items Report gives you a full download of your item data — perfect for reviewing, editing, or sharing with your team.


⚙️ How to Download the Report

Follow these simple steps to download a report of all your auction items:

  1. Go to the Items page in your admin menu.

  2. Click Manage Items.

  3. Click the CSV button to download an Excel spreadsheet.

This will download a spreadsheet with detailed item information, including:

  • Item Name, Number, Category, and Description

  • Solicitor, FMV (Fair Market Value), Starting Bid, Raise Amount

  • Closing Time, Taxable Status, Tax Rate

  • Item Type, Buy Now Price, Quantity, Limited Status

  • Consignment Info, Reserve Amount, Item Status

  • Notes, Table Assignment, Exceptions, History Names

The downloaded report gives you a comprehensive overview, whether you're prepping for your event or reviewing after the fact.


🚫 Troubleshooting Special Characters in Your Report

If you see strange symbols or gibberish in your report — especially for items with special characters (like accent marks or foreign alphabets) — the issue is usually caused by how Excel opens CSV files.

Here’s how to fix it:

  • Try opening the file using a plain text editor that supports UTF-8 encoding, like Sublime Text or Notepad++.

  • You can also import the CSV into Excel and manually set the encoding to UTF-8 during the import process.

Excel may distort special characters by default, which can make names and descriptions unreadable. Please note that this is an Excel issue beyond our control.

If you regularly use special characters, consider reviewing reports in a UTF-8 compatible program before sharing them with others.
