👤 Show Bidder Names in the Item History Tab

đź‘€ What Is the "Show Names in History Tab" Setting?

By default, bidder names are hidden in the Item History tab, and only their coded bidder ID appears. If you'd like bidders to see actual names instead of codes, you can easily update this setting in bulk through the Manage Items page.

This setting is optional and only affects what bidders see when they view the bidding history on individual item pages.

⚙️ How to Show Bidder Names in the History Tab

  1. Click Items > Manage Items

  2. At the top of the item list, set the view to Show All Entries so you’re working with the full list of items

  3. Click the Select All checkbox

  4. Scroll down to the Batch Update section

  5. Click the box labeled Show Names in Item History Tab

  6. Select Yes from the dropdown

  7. Click Update

  8. Click OK to confirm

You can reverse this setting at any time by repeating the steps and selecting No instead.

🔍 Bidder View Comparison

  1. If Enabled (Yes): Bidders will see the actual names of other bidders in the Item History

  2. If Disabled (No): Bidders will only see coded IDs (e.g., "Bidder #1023")

Some organizations prefer to keep names hidden for privacy. Double-check with your team before enabling this setting.
