📲 Text Message Features in Your Basic ClickBid Package

ClickBid's essentials software package includes automated text messages that help engage bidders throughout your event. These messages are triggered by key actions.

 

Note: If you are looking to add additional messaging options to use for your event, take a look at our upgrade options under the Organization tab > Account. Mass Messaging is included in both the Enhanced and Full Suite licenses. 

 

✉️ What Messages Are Included?

1. đź”” Outbid Text Messages

  • Trigger: Automatically sent when a bidder is outbid

  • Timing: Sent instantly by the system

  • Expiration: Links in the message expire after 30 days

ℹ️ These messages require no action to activate—they’re built in and always on.

 

2. đź‘‹ Welcome Text Messages

  • Trigger: Sent when someone registers to bid or when someone is checked in via the Butler.

  • Customization Options:

    1. Go to Software Settings > Auction Settings > Butler Settings

    2. Edit the Custom Welcome Text

    3. Be sure to include ClickBid shortcodes for personalized messages

đź’ˇ Use shortcodes like [f] for first name or [l] for login link to personalize your welcome message.

 

3. 🏆 Winning Bidder Text Messages

  • Trigger: Sent to silent and blind auction winners

  • Timing: Delivered at the item closing time you set

  • Enable & Edit:

    1. Go to Software Settings > Auction Settings > Payment

    2. Turn on and customize the Winning Bidder Message

  • Functionality: The message uses the [p] shortcode to generate a link to the payment page on your bidding site (requires the bidder to be logged in).

⚠️ Make sure mobile checkout is enabled for bidders, or the payment link won’t function properly.

 

🔧 Final Notes

  • You cannot disable Outbid Texts—they’re always active

  • You can customize the Welcome and Winning Bidder messages

  • Using shortcodes like [p], [f], and [l] allows for dynamic, personalized communication
