🧾 Understanding and Customizing Bidder Receipts
ClickBid automatically emails receipts to bidders after they complete checkout—helping you maintain transparency and giving your guests peace of mind. You also have the option to customize various parts of the receipt, including branding, footer messaging, and contact details.
📧 When and How Receipts Are Sent

Receipts are sent automatically to bidders with a valid email on file after they check out.

Emails are sent from the address listed in your Account Settings > Contact Info.

No receipt will be sent if a bidder does not have an email address listed under Bidders > Manage Bidders. You are able to go back and re-send, print or download a receipt once the email has been added.
Receipts are emailed only after successful checkout. For unpaid checkouts, receipts can be manually triggered.
⚙️ How to Customize Your Bidder Receipts
You can personalize key sections of the bidder receipt to reflect your event and organization’s branding.
🖼️ Add Your Logo

Go to Software Settings > Event Settings > Logo.

Upload your organization’s logo, which will appear at the top of the receipt.
📝 Edit the Statement Footer Message

Navigate to Software Settings > Auction Settings > Custom Content.

Enter custom text (e.g., thank-you message, tax ID, or legal disclaimer) under Statement Footer.
This is a great place to include your nonprofit’s Tax ID or acknowledgment of donations for tax purposes.
📍 Add Contact Info to Receipts

Go to Software Settings > Event Settings > Event Support Contact.

This contact information will automatically appear at the bottom of every receipt.
🏷️ Show or Hide Fair Market Value (FMV)

Go to Software Settings > Auction Settings > FMV Settings.

Toggle the setting to show or hide FMV values on bidder receipts.

To display amount paid over FMV on receipts, ensure each item has an FMV listed in Manage Items.

Items marked as "Priceless" will show that label instead of a dollar amount on receipts.
🔁 Resending a Bidder Receipt
There are several ways to resend a receipt if a bidder needs a copy.
🧭 From the Bidders Page

Go to Bidders > Manage Bidders. Locate the Tags column.

Click prt stmt to open the receipt in a new window, or email stmt to resend the email.
🧾 From the Butler

Go to Event Central > Butler.

Use the Search for Bidder field in the Bidder Lookup area to locate the bidder.

Click Paid Items.

Use the paper icon to print or envelope icon to email the statement.
💳 From Paid Checkouts

Navigate to Event Central > Event Payments > Paid Checkouts.

Click the paper icon to print or envelope icon to email the statement.
Receipts cannot be emailed unless the bidder has an email address in their profile.
🧪 What a Receipt Looks Like/Can Include
Bidder receipt includes:

Your organization’s logo

Bidder’s name and contact

Purchased items with FMV (or “Priceless”)

Amount paid over FMV

Statement footer and contact details

Itemized list of purchases/donations

Total paid and amount over FMV

"Priceless" appears for any item with that FMV label
