💬 How to Use the Chat Bidders Feature in ClickBid
The Chat Bidders feature is a great way to foster engagement and real-time interaction during your virtual or hybrid event. Available with Enhanced and Full Suite licenses, it pairs perfectly with EventStream by letting guests mingle, ask questions, or cheer on your cause—right from the bidding site.
🚀 Getting Started: Enable Bidder Chat
To enable and participate in the chat:

Go to Bidders > Chat Bidders
2. Set Show Bidding Chat? to Yes
3. In the Username field, enter a display name you'd like to use. Click Join Room.
4.Type your message in the chat field and hit Send — all logged-in bidders will see it!
💡Use a recognizable username (e.g., Auction Host or Event Staff) to help bidders know who’s speaking.
👀 What Bidders See
Here's what the chat experience looks like from the bidder’s side:

On the bidding site, the bidder clicks the Chat button

They enter a Username of their choice

Click Join Room

They can now send messages that appear to everyone participating in chat
ℹ️Chat is only visible to users currently logged into the bidding site.
🗑️ Deleting Chat Messages (Moderator Access)
Need to remove a message? Moderators can delete chats with the following steps:

On the Chat Bidders page, click Show Legacy Login Options

Enter your Moderator Email and Password

Click Login
-
A trash can icon will appear next to each message — click it to delete
⚠️ Deleting a message is permanent and cannot be undone. Only moderators have access to this function.
