Legacy:🛠️ 3 Ways to Sell Raffle Tickets
⚠️Legacy features will be retired at the beginning of 2026. For more details on this change, click here.
Here’s how to properly set up a raffle item using a Quantity Item type.
🧾 Fair Market Value (FMV)
ℹ️ Info: FMV should always equal the ticket price to prevent ClickBid from displaying any tax-deductible amount.
The IRS does not consider raffle tickets to be charitable donations. Purchases are not tax-deductible since there’s a chance the buyer may receive something of value.
💡 Tip: If you offer multiple price tiers (e.g., 1 for $50, 3 for $100), the FMV defaults to the first line’s per-ticket price (e.g., $50 ÷ 1 = $50 FMV).
🎯 Quantity for Price (Optional Tiered Pricing)
Allows guests to buy tickets at different price levels:
-
Example:
-
1 for $50
-
3 for $100
-
5 for $150
-
🛒 3 Ways to Sell Raffle Tickets
🧑💻 Option 1: Sell via the Butler (Recommended for In-Person Events)
-
Set your raffle item’s Status to Invisible
-
Access the Butler via Event Central > Launch Butler, or share the URL in Software Settings > Auction Settings > Butler Settings
-
Volunteers can log in and sell tickets using Add a Bid / Multi-Sale
-
Hand out physical tickets at the time of sale
💡 Tip: Quantity items can still be sold through the Butler even after their set closing time.
🌐 Option 2: Sell Tickets Online
Perfect for virtual or hybrid events.
-
Go to Items > Manage Items
-
Set your raffle item’s Status to Active
-
Guests can now view and purchase raffle tickets on their mobile devices
🎫 Option 3: Sell via the Ticket Page
Ideal for bundling raffle tickets with event registration.
-
Go to Event Tickets > Ticket Page > Modify Tickets > Add Underwriting
-
Enter:
-
Name: “Raffle Ticket”
-
Price: Cost per entry
-
Fair Market Value: Match the price
-
Description: Explain the raffle
-
Availability: Set the number of tickets, or 0 for unlimited
-
Hide Availability: Choose Yes to hide how many are left
-
-
To view sales:
-
Go to Event Tickets > View Ticket Sales
-
Set Show All (top-left)
-
Filter on Underwriting
-
Click the CSV button to download a full sales report. Expand the purchases per line and use the random number generator to pick your winner
-
🏆 How to Choose a Raffle Winner
This method works for the first two sale options.
-
Go to Items > Manage Items
-
Click the ‘Has Bids’ tag for your raffle item
-
Click Download Qty Purchases
In the downloaded spreadsheet:
-
Each line = one raffle entry
-
The number to the left = the raffle entry number
-
If someone purchased 3 tickets, their name will appear 3 times
Use a random number generator to select a winner:
-
Enter the range (e.g., 1–75)
-
Match the winning number to the row in your spreadsheet
⚠️ If you have multiple raffles, repeat this process separately for each item.
🎉 Fun Ways to Announce Winners
Especially great for virtual events or live-streamed raffles:
-
✉️ Open a sealed envelope with the winner’s name during a live broadcast
-
📢 Display winners on your Landing Page
-
📩 Send a Mass Message to announce the winners
-
🌀 Use Wheel of Names for a visual and interactive draw
📊 How to View Raffle Ticket Sales Reports
You can view raffle sales in two main reports:

💡Use these reports to reconcile sales totals or prepare for prize distribution.
