💳 Separating a Bidder’s Payment in the Butler

Need to split a bidder’s payment between multiple cards or methods? ClickBid makes it simple to divide payments during checkout using the Butler, giving you flexibility when guests want to pay part cash, part card—or separate their purchases.


⚙️ Step-by-Step: Separate a Payment in the Butler

  1. Go to Event Central, then click Butler.

  2. In the Search for Bidder field, type the bidder’s name.

  3. Click Checkout.

  4. Review the itemized list of their winnings or purchases at the top.

    • Select the items they want to pay for now.

    • Deselect any items you want to process separately later.

     5. Under Choose a Payment Type, select the desired method and click Complete                             Checkout.

💡Tip: Only the items currently selected will be charged with this payment method.


🔁 Repeat Checkout for Remaining Items

Once you process the first payment:

  • The bidder will receive an emailed statement showing the items and payment method.

  • The page will redirect back to the Butler homepage.

To charge the rest:

  1. Search for the same bidder again.

  2. Click the red Checkout button.

  3. The remaining items will now be selected automatically.

  4. Choose a different payment method.

  5. Click Submit to complete the second transaction.

ℹ️Info: Each transaction generates a separate email receipt for the bidder, clearly showing the split.


⚠️ Things to Keep in Mind

  • You can repeat this process as many times as needed for each bidder.

  • Only the selected items at checkout are included in that payment — deselected items remain unpaid.

⚠️ Warning: Be sure all items are accounted for and charged by the end of the event to avoid missed payments.
