🚫Why Am I Getting a “Card Does Not Support This Purchase” Error?

🚫"Your Card Does Not Support This Type of Purchase" Error Message

If a bidder sees the message "Your Card does not support this type of purchase", it means their card is being declined by their bank—not by ClickBid or Stripe. This usually happens with certain debit card settings that require a PIN, which online processors like Stripe cannot accommodate.

💳 Why This Error Happens

  • Some bank-issued debit cards require a PIN number to complete a transaction.

  • Stripe, our online payment processor, does not support PIN entry during online checkout.

  • As a result, the card is blocked by the bank, and the transaction cannot go through.

ℹ️Info: This message comes directly from the bank or card provider. Neither ClickBid nor Stripe can override or resolve it directly.

✅ What to Do If You See This Message

  1. Ask the bidder to use a different card, such as a credit card or another debit card without PIN requirements.

  2. Have the bidder go back to the payment screen and enter the new card information.

  3. The system will process the payment once a supported card is used.

💡Tip: Most bidders can resolve this issue quickly by switching to a credit card or a debit card that allows online purchases without a PIN.
