Legacy: 🛠️ How to Make Your ClickBid Event Accessible for Visually Impaired Guests
ClickBid is designed to be accessible for everyone, including guests who are blind or visually impaired. By supporting NVDA screen reader technology, ClickBid allows these guests to comfortably navigate and participate in your auction and landing pages.
🎧 How NVDA Screen Readers Work with ClickBid
-
NVDA technology reads the Bid button and continues to read related information, such as:
-
Item Title
-
Item Description
-
Item Exceptions
-
FMV (Fair Market Value)
-
Current Bid
-
Starting Bid
-
Menu Tab navigation options
-
-
On the Landing Page, NVDA will read any text displayed, including alt-text on images.
NVDA (NonVisual Desktop Access) is a free screen reader for Windows that reads text and elements aloud, enabling non-visual access to digital content.

🖼️ Why Use Alternative Text on Images
-
Alt-text provides descriptions of images for screen readers.
-
Descriptive alt-text ensures guests using assistive technology understand the purpose of images, whether they’re decorative, functional, or informational.
Keep alt-text clear and concise. Example: “Company logo” or “Silent auction item: Handcrafted pottery bowl.”
