đź‘€Legacy: How to Preview Your Bidding Site Before It Opens
Want to check your bidding site before your event goes live? Previewing lets you view your auction items and bidding experience exactly as your guests will see them — helping you catch issues early and feel confident before launch.
⚙️ Step 1: Set Items to Active or Closed
To make items appear on your bidding site preview, they must be set as Active or Closed.
-
Go to Items > Manage Items.
-
Set each item's status to Active or Closed.
Items marked as Invisible won’t appear during preview.
🎛️ Step 2: Open the Auction for Preview
Next, temporarily open your auction early so you can access the site.
-
Go to Software Settings > Landing Page Content > Login/Register Area.
-
Set Open Auction Early to Yes.
This setting lets you preview the bidding site without making it fully public. Only users who log in will see the site.
📲 Step 3: Log In to the Bidding Site
Now it’s time to view your site just like a bidder would.
-
Go to Event Central > Landing Page.
-
Enter your phone number or email address, then click Go.
-
Enter the one-time login code sent to your device, then click Next.
-
Click CONTINUE to access the bidding site.
You can log in using any account tied to your event — including your own admin account.
đź‘€ Step 4: Preview the Bidding Site
Once logged in, you’ll see the full bidding site experience, including:
-
Your auction items
-
Bidding buttons
-
Item descriptions and images
Browse around to ensure everything looks correct.
🛑 Step 5: Close the Bidding Site
When you’re done previewing, don’t forget to close the site to prevent early access by guests.
-
Return to Software Settings > Landing Page Content > Login/Register Area. (shown above)
-
Set Open Auction Early to No.
Leaving the auction open early allows bidders to access your site before you're ready.
