🎟️ Ticket Page: Guest Limit

👥 What is the Guest Limit?

This feature lets you set a maximum number of guests for your event. It combines all ticket and sponsorship entries to help you manage your event capacity easily.

A new field has been added under Event Tickets > Ticket Page Settings > General Settings called "Ticket Page Guest Limit"

⚙️ How to Set a Guest Limit

  1. Go to: Event Tickets ➡️ Ticket Page Settings ➡️ General Settings

  2. Scroll down until you see the option: “Show fair market value on ticket purchaser receipts?”

  3. Find the field labeled “Ticket Page Guest Limit”

  4. Enter a number to set the maximum total guests allowed for your event.

  5. Want unlimited guests? Simply leave the field blank to remove the limit.

Ticket Page Guest Limit will default to Unlimited (the box is empty). You can also enter "0" for unlimited.

🧾 Setting Individual Guest Quantities

You can still set specific guest quantities for each individual ticket or sponsorship level.
These limits work alongside your overall event guest limit to help you manage capacity.

⚠️ Lowering the Guest Limit After Sales

If you've already sold tickets or sponsorships, you won’t be able to lower your total guest limit below the number already sold.

Example: If you’ve already sold 14 tickets, and try to reduce your event’s guest limit to 13, you'll see a popup warning that you cannot set the limit below the current number of guests. ⬇️

➕ Adding Guests Manually

You can also manually add guests from your ticket sales area:

  1. Go to View Ticket Sales

  2. Click the blue dropdown arrow next to the ticket

  3. Select the “ℹ️” (info) icon

  4. Scroll to the bottom and click “Add Guest”

🚫 What Happens If You’re Near the Limit

If your event has a guest limit and you're working with RSVP tickets, you’ll see a warning message when adding a guest that would put you over the limit.

This helps prevent accidental overbooking.

RSVP Users Can Bypass the Limit (With a Warning⚠️)

If you have permissions to sell RSVP tickets, you can still add guests even if it pushes the event over the guest limit.

✅ You’ll see a warning message, but you’ll be allowed to proceed.

This ensures flexibility for permitted users while still giving a heads-up about capacity limits.

📝 RSVP Ticket Page Behavior

When someone purchases RSVP tickets through the ticket page that would go over your guest limit, the sale will still go through ✅

However, a notice will appear on the confirmation page letting you know that the total guest count has exceeded the set limit.

This allows the sale to complete while keeping you informed about capacity status.

🛑 Ticket Page Behavior at Capacity

  • If selecting a ticket or sponsorship would push the event over its guest limit, it will show as Sold Out.

  • If the ticket type is still available, but the quantity selected would exceed your event’s capacity, a message will appear to inform the buyer.

🔁 What Happens in This Case?

In the example below:
A guest tries to purchase 2 tickets, but only 1 fits within the guest limit.
⛔ An error message appears, and the quantity is automatically reduced to 1.

This ensures guests can't accidentally overbook beyond your set limits.

When the maximum guest capacity has been reached, the ticket page will display 'Sold Out' for all tickets and sponsorships during the purchasing process (shown below ⬇️)
