Consignment Items

Consignment companies specialize in items, trips, and experiences to be offered as additional auction items.  It is common for organizations to list these items in ClickBid alongside the items that the organization procured itself. Typically, the consignment company is only paid if the item sells.  Therefore, it is recommended that the organization set the starting bid as the price the consignment company must be paid for. This way the item will be covered by the first bid. In fact, most groups start the bidding even a bit higher than the consignment amount in order to ensure that they make some amount of profit on each consignment item sold.

The Item Import template has a column for consignment value so that value can be included when importing items into ClickBid.  There is also a field in your admin under Items > Manage Items > Add an item > in the Essentials section, you can enter the consignment amount for an item. We make it easy to obtain your auction total after calculating what is owed back to the consignment seller.  After the bidding is over, Consignment info is made available under Dashboard > Post Event > Consignment Overview. This will give you information on Auction Total, the Consignments Sold Total (amount owed to Consignment companies) and the Net Auction Total.

In addition, Under the Reports tab, there is a Consignment Detail report. This report breaks down the details for each item. It will list the item name, consignment amount,  auction sale and net sale. Just like any report in ClickBid you can copy and paste it into excel or save it as a csv.
