How do I obtain required information prior to the event for a bidder?

If you are uploading a list of bidders to Bidders > Manage Bidders, you may be missing the required information. It is always best practice to have at least one form of communication on file to prevent duplicate records from being made. ClickBid's software only runs a check for phone and email NOT for the bidder's name. Please take a look below to learn the steps of obtaining this information prior to the event. This will also help save on time during check in at the event.

1.) Make sure all items that you don't want available for bidding have a closed or invisible status. You will want to make sure at least one item is closed or active vs everything being invisible. This will help eliminate confusion and allow bidders to preview the auction items. You could also have an active auction item that is a donation until you are ready to allow bids on the rest of your items.

2.) Under Software Settings > Landing Page Content > Login/Register Area > Open Auction Early, set the setting to yes. This allows the additional required information to be added.

3.) Send out a mass text or email depending on the information that you have on the bidder page that includes the landing page url or the [u] shortcode. Below is a bidder that does not have an email on file, credit card, or address. Both phone and email are required in ClickBid however credit card and address can be an additional requirement. This can be set under Software Settings > Auction Settings > Bidder Settings.

Mass messaging is available with the Enhanced or Full Suite licenses. If you do not have mass messaging, please reach out to your Account Manager for more information.

4.) Bidder clicks on the link to be brought to your landing page. They will enter in their phone or email.

5.) The bidder is brought to a log in code page. They will enter in the code that is sent to them. **If the bidder entered in their email, they will receive the code in an email vs a text.

6.) After entering in the code, they will be required to enter in the rest of the required information.

7.) Once this information has been added, they will be brought to their bidding site. In the image below, I only have one active item. Bidders will be able to donate until the rest of the items are switched to active.

After all of this information has been added, it will appear on the manage bidders page. The next time the bidder logs in, they should only have to enter in their phone or email to get started and then the log in code.
