      Split Payment Between Bidders for one Item

       

      SPLITTING PAYMENT STEPS FOR SILENT ITEM

      Silent Auction items cannot be split or have more than one winner. However, all you have to do is create a 'new' item with item type LIVE. 

      Follow these steps:

      • Remove all bids from the silent item. Items > Manage Items > 'has bids' tag for item > X all bids. 
        • NOTE: If your organization would like the bid history for this item, download the CSV of the bid history before removing all the bids.
      • Once the silent item's bids have been removed, you need to change the item type to LIVE. Items > Manage Items > Item Type: LIVE. Save. 
      • Add the live item to the bidder's cart that is splitting the payment. Event Central > Butler > Add a Live Bid/Multi-Sale/Silent Bid.
        • Add in the specific bidder name, the live item number, and the split amount.
        • You will have to repeat this process for any other bidders wishing to split this item. 

      FMV NOTE: If you would like to have the purchasers split the amount over FMV, you will have to reduce the FMV by half on the item settings in order for the FMV to be correct on each bidder's statement.


      NOTE: As long as all of the bidders are purchasing the same item, the item will be available for checkout in the bidder's cart for the split price. 


      EXPLANATION: Having the item type LIVE allows you to split the item as many times as you would like for the same price and sell the item as many times as you would like.



      SPLITTING PAYMENT STEPS FOR LIVE ITEM

      Follow these steps:

      • Remove the winning bid from the live item. Items > Manage Items > 'has bids' tag for item > X bid.
        • If this item is an eventstream item, turn off the evenstream tag. Items> Manage Items > Click on green pencil > Turn the setting 'Allow Live Bids' OFF. 
      • Once the winning bid has been removed, you can add the split payment to each bidder using the Butler. 

      Event Central > Butler > Add a Live Bid/Multi-Sale/Silent Bid. 

      • Add in the specific bidder name, the live item number, and the split amount.
      • You will have to repeat this process for any other bidders wishing to split this item.
